Obituary for Barbara Ann Foster (Hensley)
Barbara Hensley Foster, age 79, 837 Coffee Ridge Road, Erwin, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Unicoi County and lived in Florida forty-two years prior to moving back to Unicoi County in 1995. Barbara is a daughter of the late Ervin and Sarah Hughes Hensley. She was previously employed by Sav-A-Stop where she worked in bookkeeping for fifteen years. Barbara retired from Erwin Health Care in 2000 after five years of service in dietary/nutrition. She was a member of Coffee Ridge Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Foster on January 20, 2012; five brothers: Frank, Bill, John, George and Carmon Hensley; one sister, Gladys Higgins.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, one son, Bobby Padgett of Virginia; two daughters: Valrie Padgett, Jacksonville, FL and Beverly Ledford, Erwin; one grandson, Mathew Padgett; one granddaughter, Monica Padgett, both of Virgina; three great grandchildren: Chloe, Claire and Corbin; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P. M. until the hour of service on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Phillip Garland will officiate at the 7:00 P. M. funeral service. Pallbearers will be Tim Ledford, Tony Ledford, Denlis Foster, Mike Foster and other members of Coffee Ridge Baptist Church. Committal service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Friday in the Higgins Cemetery, Coffee Ridge Community. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 A. M. on Friday.
