Condolence: To the David Smitka Family, We are so sorry to have lost a very dear friend and neighbor. But, we have so many good memories of our times at the lake. We spent a lot of time with Margaret and Bill but it was so special to the four of us when the children would come up. They would just laugh and be so happy to watch the older ones sit by the fire, relax and watch the little ones doing their thing. We won't tell anyone what Healy liked to do, honey it is only one of the many stories that keeps our memories alive. Not to mention the moving of the boat docks every spring and fall.David may not have been able to do that, but at least he saw their children get married and had a few years with their beautiful grandchildren.
It was a very sad time when we moved away. However, We are happier to remember the good olde days. The street is just not the same without our generation. We do stay in touch with the new generation on Facebook, and enjoy their get togethers and the pictures very much. Our thought and prayers go with all of you. We will miss him as much as we have missed his parents.

Condolence: For the family of Dave. So very sorry to hear of Dave's passing, he truly was a good person. Dave and I work together for a while at G.E. And I would always see him helping the Veterans down in the Stratton Veterans Hospital in Albany. My sincere condolences. Rick Splawnik

Condolence: We are very sorry to learn of Dave's passing. I had a very pleasant conversation with him in early May between the two houses. He was feeling well, looked very good and said he was feeling quite well. I am so glad we had that moment, and he was enjoying being back by the lake ! Our thoughts are with you and the family at this time...

Condolence: Smitka Family:
My condolences to you all for the loss of David. I remember him best at the 223 fire department. His maturity, kindness, attention to detail at an EMS call, and most of all being a true brother. Wojo

Condolence: Dear Liz, Jimmy and Annie, We are so sorry for your recent loss. It is especially hard for not only Jimmy and Annie but also for the grandchildren and of course their personal friends who had many years of growing up and around the both of you. This is so true as I know that my daughter, Susan considered both you and Dave as her second parents. If ever I needed to find her I only had to check at Annie's as she was always with the Smitka clan either at home or at the campsite with not only you and David but G-Ma and G-Pa. My heart goes out to you Liz at this time and just know that you have friends who are here and if you need anything please do not hesitate to call.
