Manuel F.  Carvalho
Manuel F. Carvalho, 98, of New Haven passed away at home November 17, 2012. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, he was the husband of the late Mary G. Carvalho. He served in the US Army during WWII and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He is survived by two daughters Gloria (Jim) Leahy, Janice (Ken) Leibovitz and two granddaughters Deanna & Jennifer Leibovitz. He was predeceased by a sister Laura Carvalho and a brother Joseph Cavallaro. He was a retired supervisor /inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9 to 10:30 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Aedan’s Church, 112 Fountain Street, New Haven at 11:00. Entombment with military honors will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to St. Aedan’s Church.
