Memories of Tom Waters

Dear Sandy, Rob and David: I am sorry to learn your dad died, to lose a parent is tough at any age. There are three memories I have of Tom that make me smile. The first of course is the fantastic wine cellar he built and the wine he made to stock it. “Come over,” he’d call, “I have a new one to try” and he and Jean and I would sit and sip and laugh. Lots of laughter. A second is watching him dancing in the driveway with Sandy’s little guy who really wasn’t much more than a baby at the time, singing the Mickey Mouse Club song. “He likes it!” Tom assured me. One morning I was heading off to work and Tom was putting a picnic hamper in the trunk of his car for another day trip with one of the many visitors from England. “Where are you off to today Tom?” I called across the street. He slammed the trunk down and called back “bloody Niagara Falls.” I laughed all the way to work. I understand how he felt now, one summer I ended up going to Peggy’s Cove five times. Scott, Jill and Andrew share my condolences to you at this very sad time. Take care of each other, Janet
