On November 26, 2012, the Lord took Eileen from us to be with her husband Albert J. Kelly Jr. Born February 2, 1927, Eileen was blessed with eight children. Candace (Gordie) Smith, Michael (Janet) Kelly, Kevin (Sue) Kelly, Ronnie (Joann) Kelly, Cheri (Bob) Currie, Scott (Helen) Kelly, Tami (Vinny) Mursko and Patty Brereton (Bobby) Johnson. She also leaves eighteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She leaves sisters, Regina Gilbert, Anna May Doody, Kathleen Geer and brother in law Frank Geer whom she cherished. Eileen leaves behind a large wonderful family of nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her father and mother, Walter and Dorothy Currier, sister Frances Granfield and son-in-law Edward M. Brereton. Eileen worked for many years and retired from Connecticut Blue Cross. She was a master at knitting and crocheting and enjoyed weekends away with her fun-loving “club” friends. She loved spending much of her time at the beach. “Ike” had the patience of a saint and welcomed all into her home. Everyone will cherish beautiful memories of our Mom. She will be missed and forever in our hearts.
The hours for visitation will be Wednesday (TODAY) from 4 to 8pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home Thursday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in St. Lawrence Church. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
