Obituary for Noah Eugene Yancy

Noah E. Yancy
1926-2007
Age 80 of Fostoria died Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Maple Wood Manor in Clio, MI. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris, Pastor Dale Lewis officiating with burial following in Flint Memorial Park. Noah’s family will receive friends 11:00 am - 8:00 pm Thursday and from 10:00 am until the time of service on Friday. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Noah was born April 10, 1926 in Pocahontas, Arkansas the son of Mr. & Mrs. Noah Edgar and Nora Pearl (Hallaway) Yancy. He and Dorothy VanDyke were married on April 30, 1946 and she preceded him in death in 1989. He later married Roberta Harper on December 18, 1994 and she preceded him in death in 2001. Noah worked for GM at Flint Manufacturing for 30 years retiring in 1985, He enjoyed fishing and was an expert on small engine repair. He also loved being around his family at holiday times. Noah was a member of UAW Local 659 and the Ambassador Baptist Church for twenty-eight years. Left to cherish Noah’s memory are his children, Dorothy and husband Gary Lynn of Fostoria, Terry Yancy of Genesee, Peggy Staley of Midland; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three sisters, Martha and husband Fred Jones of Flint, Shirley and husband Bill Healy of Florida, Bonnie and husband Bill Miller of Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews. Noah was preceded in death by his parents; wife Dorothy of 43 years; wife Roberta of 7 years;
Son, Jimmy Yancy in 2005; brother, Ernie Yancy; and Noah’s twin sister Nora Evelyn Walker.
