Canton- Frances E. Plante, 78, a longtime resident of Main Street, Jay, died Saturday, January 26th at Victorian Villa Nursing Home in Canton. She was born September 9, 1934 in Columbus, Georgia, the daughter of Homer and Bessie (Pierce) Patton. She attended school in Columbus. On March 31, 1955 she married J. Bert Plante, he passed away November 4, 2002. Frances worked as an L.P.N. at Heritage Nursing Home in Winthrop, Victorian Villa in Canton and Pomeroy Hill Nursing Home in Livermore Falls. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. Frances was a Cub Scout Den Mother when her children were younger. She is survived by her sons, Daniel Plante and Kelly Plante and his wife Tammy of Jay; daughters, Linda Blais and her husband Wayne of Turner; and Catherine Riddle of Florida; her sister Betty Patton of Fortston, Georgia, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM on Wednesday, January 30th at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Visiting hours will be from 3-5 PM prior to the funeral service.
