Condolences

Condolence From: Norma Renfro
Condolence: I met Myra about 1982. I had friends at my home very often and we had some of the best country music going for hours with the piano, several guitars, a saxaphone, the music room was complete with speakers and mikes. Myra was a good friend of Kenneth Shepherd so he would encourage her to come and be a part of the fun. I am sure that she would have rather been anywhere but there.but she and that 'fiddle' were in my home so much and gave all of us so much pleasure. I will never forget those days. I only wish that I had recorded them so that I could take myself back to the fun we all had. It was my honor to see her again in later years after my 27 year old daughter died of cancer. I started going to the Bereaved Parent's Group and Myra was there. She offered to play her 'violin' on special occasions. She was a blessing to our group. I took her aside one night and explained to her that I was confused about the fiddle she played at my home and the violin she played at the meetings. I was asking a serious question, since I know little of musical instruments. She just smiled that precious smile of hers, leaned toward me and said softly," If someone comes in bringing the instrument in a case, it is a violin and if they bring it in a burlap bag, it's a fiddle." I will never forget her saying that. Myra was a wonderful, kind and generous woman and a friend to all that knew her. I am so sorry that I heard of her passing too late to be at her funeral. She was an inspiration to me and I will never forget her. My prayers are going out to all that loved her, both friends and family, for she had so many that loved her. I pray for you to have some comfort and rejoice in your many memories you have of her. I am sure they were all good ones. She will be greatly missed.

Condolence: To Mrs. Dyer's Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I was saddened upon hearing of her passing. Mrs. Dyer was my third grade music teacher at Aikin. I remember being so excited to go to music class. I enjoyed her violin, the yellow ribbons she wore for her son, and her love of music. She will be truly missed.

Condolence: To the Dyer Family: Please accept my deepest sympathies in the loss of Myra. Myra and I worked together many years ago with the Desert Storm Support Group and I enjoyed getting to know her. I know that your family is going to miss her very much as the rest of the community will. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Condolence: Dear Marion, Mark and Dyer family--
If there was ever someone who wanted to make an impact on the lives of the youth, it was Myra Dyer. While I never had the pleasure to be her student, I watched and heard from so many she touched through her passion to share a gift.
As a much younger child, I remember playing with Mitch and Kim Fisher when the famiy would visit Mr. and Mrs. Shelton's home on Lamar Avenue.
May you all be comforted in knowing she's enjoying a renewed life and sharing her gifts with so many.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you today and in the days ahead.
