Obituary for Mr. Merrick George McKoy

Mr. Merrick George McKoy
Isaiah 58:11-12
And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought,
and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a
spring of water, whose waters fail not. And they that shall be of thee shall
build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many
generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach,
The restorer of paths to dwell in.
The sun rose on the life of Mr. Merrick George McKoy on May 10, 1991 in Spanish Town, Jamaica when he was born to Lavern McKoy and Dawn Clarke. The second of four children, he had two brothers, Thervon and Lorenz “LG” and one sister, Veleisha. As a child, Merrick was outspoken and knew what he wanted. “He would often climb the guard tree and hide from everyone until he decided to come down.” Educated in the public schools, Merrick graduated from George Washington High School in Denver, Colorado where the family had relocated. He continued his education at Emily Griffith Opportunity School where he was studying Massage Therapy. Merrick was the father of one beautiful baby daughter, Mia (deceased). He was employed with Body Beautiful Collection in the position of Auto Body Mechanic. He also worked with Advanced Health Care for 4 years. He was known as dependable, hard working and trust worthy. “He was well liked.” Merrick was raised a Baptist Christian. In his free time, he enjoyed his daughter, playing video games with LG, riding motorcycles and working on his cars. His best friends, Antonio and Mike will miss his sense of humor and always being willing to help others. His favorite expression was, “It’s a long
story.” His most treasured relationship was with his grandmother, Aunt B. He was a very loving and protective son, brother and grandson. His mother will always treasure the time he spent with her on November 17, 2013, watching the football game between the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs. His love, kindness, enjoyment of life and ability to be “the life of the party” will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The sun set on the life of Mrs. Merrick George McKoy on November 21, 2013. He is survived by his mother, Dawn Clarke; brothers, Thervon Watson and Lorenz “LG” McKoy; sister, Veleisha McKoy, all of Denver, CO; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Rest in peace...Merrick.....
