Irene J. Moore has succumbed to battling numerous complications after pneumonia on Friday, January 3, 2014 at The Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 83 years old.
Irene was born on January 18, 1930, in Poughkeepsie, NY, as the youngest child of Konstanty Puzewski and Josephine Korsinska Puzewska. She married the late Edward Moore on March 11, 1949, in Poughkeepsie, New York¸ at St Joseph’s Catholic Church. Her husband predeceased her on January 6, 1997. Her older siblings that predeceased Irene were John “Tom” Puzewski, of Pleasant Valley, New York, Justin“Cookie”Puzewski of Poughkeepsie, New York and Jadz Puzewska Hrenyo of Poughkeepsie, New York.
Irene is survived by her six children and their spouses, Daniel Moore of Anchorage, Alaska, John Moore of Highland, New York, Constance Moore Andrews and David Andrews of Trout Run, Pennsylvania, Martin Moore and Carol Ann Parslow Moore of Arden, North Carolina, Robert Moore of LaGrangeville, New York and Michael Moore and Amy Bernhardt-Moore of Kingston, New York. One child, Edward Moore Jr. of LaGrangeville, New York, also predeceased her. Irene also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Irene was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother who loved spending time with her Family. She also loved animals and enjoyed rides through the countryside and looking for deer. Irene enjoyed dancing the polka in her younger years and enjoyed fishing with her Family. Irene was proud of her Polish American heritage, her dish collection and her flower gardens. Calling hours are Tuesday, January 7, 2014, 5-7 PM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son F.H., Inc., 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Joseph’s Church, 9 Lafayette Place in Poughkeepsie on January 8, 2014 at 9:30 AM followed by the Funeral to her resting area at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Poughkeepsie.
