KANE
Sue A. Long, 76, of 601 Smithfield Avenue, passed away Wednesday (March 12, 2014) at Kane Community Hospital.
Born March 11, 1938, at DeYoung, she was a daughter of Floyd and Verlie Adams Slocum. On August 7, 1959, in Kane, she married Robert Long who preceded her in death.
Sue, a member of the United Methodist Church, had been a manager of the former Widman's Drug Store and later worked at the Market Basket in Kane. She also enjoyed spending time watching her grandsons.
Survivors include a daughter, Anita Long of Kane; two grandsons, Todd (Amanda) Long and Brandon Long, both of Kane; three great grandsons, Chase Long, Alexander Long and Aaron Long, all of Kane; a step-great granddaughter, Trinity Menteer of Kane; a sister, Adeline Wilson of Kane; and a very good friend, Vicki Lyle and her family of Kane.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Adams and Serrill Slocum.
Family and friends may attend a funeral service 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. with the Rev. W. Craig Smith officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kane Community Hospital, the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
