Obituary for Alyssa M. Couzelis

Alyssa Marie Couzelis, 20, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014. She was born November 13, 1993. Born and raised in Agawam, Springfield, and East Longmeadow, Alyssa attended East Longmeadow High School and continued her studies to become a certified phlebotomist. Studies came easily to Alyssa. She also studied at STCC and at the time of her passing, she was attending Branford Hall. Alyssa enjoyed the beach, camping, snowboarding, dirt bike riding, golfing, listening to music, hanging out with her friends, was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and enjoyed doing her and her friend’s hair and nails. Alyssa was a ray of sunshine and filled her family’s and many friend’s lives with happiness and many fond memories of fun and loving times. Alyssa’s spirit will live on in her precious daughter Amiyah Evelyn; who will be in the loving hands of her dad, Josh. Those closest to Alyssa, forever keeping her spirit alive for her beloved daughter Amiyah, are her father, Jason Couzelis and stepmother, Christina Barnes; her mother, Chiala Marvici; her brother, Kailer; her paternal grandfather, Bill Couzelis (Papa) and his wife Linda; her paternal grandmother, Jane Bixby (GG); her maternal grandmother, Catherine Marvici (Noni); her grandfather, Al Pilkington and his wife Maryellen; her aunt, Chelsea Marvici (Titi); Nana and Bobby; godfather, TJ Woodward; Paul Davis and many other family members and friends. Visiting Hours for Alyssa will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 12pm to 4pm at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield. A short prayer service for Alyssa will be held at 3pm. A Celebration of Alyssa’s Life will begin at 4pm. The burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alyssa’s memory may be made to the Amiyah Evelyn Fund, Bank of America, 225 Memorial Ave. West Springfield, MA 01089.
