Obituary for Amos Cobaugh

Amos Cobaugh, 83, of Hummelstown, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016, at his home.
Born in Hummelstown on March 31, 1933, he was the son of the late Amos, Sr. and Pearl V. Nunnamaker Cobaugh.
Amos retired as an electrician from the Hershey Foods Corporation. He was a member of Highspire United Methodist Church. Amos was an U. S. Air Force veteran having served in the Korean War. He was the Past Commander, Finance Officer and life member of the American Legion Post 265, Hummelstown; Past Dauphin County Commander of the American Legion; and Past Adjutant and Finance Officer of District 19 of the American Legion. Amos was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and life member of the former Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1687, Hummelstown. A patriotic man, Amos served proudly with the Dauphin County Honor Guard. He was also a member of the Chocolate Workers Union Local 464, Hershey. Amos was an avid golfer, and Penn State, Yankees, and Green Bay Packers fan.
Amos was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy M. Wolford Cobaugh, on August 19, 2015; and a son, Rick E. Cobaugh, on September 29, 1989.
He is survived by three sons, Thomas L. Cobaugh of Hummelstown, John J. Cobaugh husband of Tina of Harrisburg, and Brian S. Cobaugh of Epsom, New Hampshire; one sister, Stella Marie Cave of Fisherville seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Willie Caraballo, Jr., his pastor, officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the Hummelstown Cemetery. Friends are invited to the viewings in the funeral home on Monday, June 6, 2016, from 6 to 8 PM and again on Tuesday from 10 AM until time of the service.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110, or to the Dauphin County Veterans’ Honor Guard, 4700 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
