Obituary for Michael G. Steetle

Michael G. Steetle
Michael George Steetle, 53 of Indiana, died Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born in Indiana on May 31, 1961, he was a son of Clarence M. Steetle of Indiana and the late Margaret J. (Kowchuck) Steetle. He was the husband of Veronica (Wise) Steetle whom he married December 4, 1987. They had just celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary.

Mike was a lifelong resident of Indiana. He had attended classes at Indiana Area High School. For the last 17 years he was a road maintenance worker for White Township.

Mike was a Drag Bike Race fanatic. He enjoyed racing his own bike and watching as a spectator. He had a special bond with his father and the two of them would travel together to many racing events.

Mike loved to care for his back yard vegetable garden. Of course his family and friends often benefitted from all of the extra tomatoes, cucumbers, squash and other vegetables he shared. He also liked to attend his children’s sporting events and games. He especially liked spending time with his family and his loving dog, Cookie.

In addition to his wife and father, Mike will be remembered by his children: Nicole Pope and husband, Joe, Pittsburgh; Andrew Steetle & fiancee, Rachel, Smithfield; Katie and Michelle Steetle, both of Indiana. He is also survived by his grandson, Jordan Pope, Pittsburgh and two siblings: Ronald Steetle & wife, Amy, Parkwood, PA and Linda Cochran & husband, Gerald, Cleveland, GA.

Friends will be received Wednesday, December 10th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. His funeral service will be held Thursday morning at 9 AM at the funeral home. Pastor Gary S. Garritano will officiate. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.

Memorial donations may be made to: United Special Sportsman Alliance, Inc., N7864 Shotwell Lane, Pittsville, WI 54466.
