Ernie, I can not believe that has happened to you. This morning at coffee I heard the news in London. I could not believe my ears. I am so sorry. Just as you retire. Ernie, I loved you as a soldier. You were an amazing man and a true hero to this nation. For you to die in such a manner after all your service to this country is truly tragic. While as a young soldier in the RCR and on the course shown in the picture on this very site. You and only you stood against Airborne Chain of Command in favor of a young RCR as you believed in me. I have never forget that nor our time in Germany and the Gulf War. You are a true Soldier in every sense of the word. God bless you sir! I am truly humbled to have served with and benefited from your leadership. I am so sorry Ernie that you did not get to see a full retirement. This is a tragedy and such a waste of a great Canadian. It makes me very sad this has happened to you. God Bless you brother! George Myatte
