Obituary for Aileen M. Naccarato (Shertzer)

Aileen M.  Naccarato (Shertzer)
Aileen M. Shertzer Naccarato, 83, of Hummelstown, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center with her sons by her side.
Born in Union Deposit on September 10, 1931, she was the daughter of the late James G. Shertzer, Sr. and Alice M. Whitmoyer Shertzer. She retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot as a supply clerk; she was also previously employed at the former Olmsted Air Force Base. Aileen was a 1949 graduate of Hershey High School. She was an avid reader, especially novels; enjoyed knitting and crocheting; and loved her cat.
In addition to her parents, Aileen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert E. Naccarato on August 5, 1996.
She is survived by her two sons, Kim A. Naccarato and Robin P. Naccarato both of Hummelstown; two sisters, Elva J. S. Winter wife of John of Dover, and Sharon S. Quenzler wife of Gilbert of Harrisburg; a brother, James G. Shertzer, Jr. husband of Bobbi of Lebanon; eight grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, Nicole, Aaron, Ryan, Jennifer, Amber, and Justin; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 2 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Jason R. Mackey, pastor of Cross Point United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Hummelstown Cemetery. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 PM until the time of the services.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 North Progress Avenue, Suite 103, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
Aileen’s sons would like to extend sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff at the Hershey Medical Center in the MICU especially Sue, Jon, and Karen, and also to Rachel from the Fifth Floor Hospice Unit for the dedication and care given their mother during her time of illness.
