Obituary for Irene Ann (Pavlik) Miksis
ASHLAND: Irene Ann (Pavlik) Miksis, 96, a local resident for 7 years, died peacefully Tuesday, March 17th, 2015 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
Born in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Sebastian and Mary (Hanacek) Pavlik. Mrs. Miksis worked as a hostess at the renowned Drake Hotel in Chicago for several years and was also the secretary and treasurer for her family business, Acme Metallizing Company in Chicago for many years.
She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Miksis who died in 2003, and is survived by her son, Edward C. Miksis and his wife Kathleen (Gazard) of Ashland and 3 grandchildren, Anna, Charlie and Sarah Miksis. She was the sister of the late Beverly, Joseph and Dorothy Lee Pavlik.
A funeral Mass and burial will be held in Hinsdale, Ill. under the direction of Gibbons Elliston Funeral Home, 60 South Grant St., Hinsdale, Ill 60521. tel: 630-323-0275. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial gifts to Bethany Health Care Center, 97 Bethany Road, Framingham, MA 01702.
