Condolences

Condolence From: Janet McGhee
Condolence: To the family; I am so deeply sorry to hear about the passing of Norman. I worked at SPSS 1980 and currently working for IBM. I heard the news from a customer and I have now passed the information along to other colleagues who knew and worked with Norman. I remember him well and he was at my 25th anniversary ceremony where I received a anniversary watch.

Condolence: Norman was indeed a force of nature. He gave me a seminal opportunity to participate in the early growth of SPSS, Inc. from which I gained valuable career experience during my seven years there. He also was generous in sharing his own family home with me and Ioanna, where he hosted the baby shower for our twin daughters. He was a man with a big heart and my condolences go out to Carol, Annie and Lara at this difficult time. Please let me know of any memorial tributes that are scheduled.

Condolence: Dear Carol: My deepest sympathies and best wishes go out to you now, with Norm's passing. He was a great grad school colleague; exhausting at times, but unfailingly good-spirited and intellectually challenging and stimulating. I'll never forget the way he showed me every chapter of the first SPSS handbook, as he and Tex and Jay created it, and asked my opinion. Finally I asked why he always came to me, since I had taken no math since high school. His answer: I know--but we figured that if you could understand it, anyone could. I think that was a compliment. Anyhow, Love, Jim

Condolence: So sorry for your loss Carol and the rest of the family. I knew Norman only a short time and was looking forward to many more engaging and stimulating conversation. It seems my and your time with him was cut short. Condolences. All my love, Jeff
