Salvatore Thomas Inserra, a 10 year resident of Brewster, NY, died Wednesday April 8, 2015 at his home. He was 87 years old.

Mr. Inserra was born May 19, 1927 in Roscoe, PA, son to the late Salvatore T. and Lucretia (Poletz) Inserra. Sal proudly served in the US Navy during WWII.

Sal married Josephine V. DiGioacchino on January 12, 1952. She predeceased him on June 6, 2007.

Mr. Inserra was a supervisor for United Airlines in Newark, NJ for over 20 years before retiring.

Sal always had a smile on his face, anyone who met him enjoyed his company and enjoyed being around him. He enjoyed life! Mr. Inserra was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW. He loved being a veteran of the armed forces and talking about his time he served.

Mr. Inserra is survived by three sons, Michael Inserra of Colliersville, NY, Salvatore T. Inserra and his wife Darlene of Fife, WA, and Joseph Inserra and his wife Marisa of Howell, NJ; a daughter, Mary Cay Nilsen and her husband Glenn of Brewster, NY; eight grandchildren, Lindsey, Jason (Katie), Salvatore T., Jennifer, Rebecca, Joseph, Daniel and Timothy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday April 13, 2015 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Patterson, NY. Interment following at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, Brewster. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Saturday April 11, 2015 from 7-9PM and Sunday April 12 from 2-4 PM and 6-8PM.
