Emil F.  Macura
FRAMINGHAM: Emil F. Macura, 84, a lifelong resident of Framingham, died peacefully surrounded by his family Thursday April 9, 2015. He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa D. (Abelli) Macura who died in 2008.

Born in Framingham , he was the son of the late Emil & Agnes (Scanlon) Macura and was an accomplished athlete at and graduate of Framingham High School with the Class of 1948. Mr. Macura went on to graduate from Boston College in 1952, and began a career with Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., retiring as a senior workmen's comp examiner. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed gardening and swimming at the beach. Mr. Macura will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and to his friends he was a trusted and helpful confidant always willing to lend a compassionate hand to help those in need.

He is survived by his children: Michael E. Macura & wife Kathleen of Southboro, Patricia Ann Macura of E. Harwich, Stephen P. Macura & wife Pamela of Stoneham and a daughter-in-law: Carol Macura of Franklin; 6 grandchildren: Michael, Peter, Kathryn, Jillian, Grace and Daniel Macura; a sister: Janis Stern of Georgia; a sister-in-law: Anna Chouinard of Framingham and a niece: Emily. He was the father of the late James V. Macura who died in 2009.

Visiting hours are Sunday, April 12 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Boyle Bros. Funeral Home, 173 Union Ave., Framingham. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 13 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Church, 221 Concord St., (Rte. 126) Framingham with burial following at St. Stephen's Cemetery, Fenwick St., Framingham. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in his name to: the Pan-Mass Challenge, 77 Fourth Ave., Needham, MA. 02494.
