Asburry A.B. Johnson age 89, died Sunday March 18, 2018 at Sayre Christian Village. He was the son of the late Reed and Martha Turner Johnson. A.B. was a professional Engineer and lived in Perry County and Hazard until 1994, then retired and resided in Berea Kentucky for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Anna Belle Johnson, son Phillip (Caroline) Johnson, son-in-law Phil O’dell and grandson Nicholas O’dell, his brother Reed (Carol) Johnson Jr., and special niece Helen Taulbee, along with numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his daughter Phyllis O’dell and five siblings.
A memorial service will be Thursday at 11 am at Silver Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Reed officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 am at the church; entombment at Berea Cemetery Mausoleum will take place at 9 am Thursday.
