Frances Stroup Ayres, 93, of Stillwater passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. A family graveside service will held at a later date. Frances was born in Commerce, Texas in 1922 and was the daughter of Joe and Kate Stooksberry. Frances graduated from Poteau High School and attended Oklahoma Baptist University. During her lifetime she was blessed to have two wonderful husbands, George Stroup and Roy Ayres. George and Frances spent many happy years in Stillwater raising their two daughters. She was active in the community and enjoyed many hobbies, golf, sewing and playing bridge. After George’s death, she later married Roy Ayres and following their retirement moved to Belle Vista, AR. She is survived by two daughters and four loving step children. They are daughter, Kay Moore and husband, James, and daughter Jan Ackerman, Patrick Ayres and wife, Franna, Cathy Silvers and husband, Reggie, Barbara Osteen and husband, Vic, and Joe Ayres and wife, Ellen. She was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
