Lorna B.  Parris (Stanton)
Passed away at the Tiger Hills Health Centre, Treherne MB, on Tuesday March 29, 2016 at the age of 95 years, Barbara Helen Lorna Parris (nee Stanton) of Treherne MB.

Lorna leaves to mourn her passing her sister-in-law Terry Stanton of Treherne as well as her nieces & nephews & their families. Lorna was predeceased by her husband Joe Parris (1982), parents James & Barbara Stanton, brothers Frank (Aileen), Bert (Isobel) & Clarence Stanton, and by sisters Evelyn Stanton & Ruth (Ed) Schultz.

Lorna was born on December 14, 1920 in the R.M of South Norfolk to James & Barbara Stanton. Lorna attended Wilson Glenn School & later Treherne High school. She entered the military service towards the end of the war after which she became an x- ray technician. She worked at the Manitoba Clinic & Vancouver Clinic, then followed her sister Evelyn to Oklahoma where she worked at the Ponca City Hospital for many years. She met & married Joe Parris & remained in Ponca City until a few years after his death in 1982. In 1991, she then returned to Treherne & resided with her sister Evelyn. Lorna enjoyed gardening, quilting & traveling and was known as an independent & adventurous lady.

Funeral service was held on Wednesday April 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Treherne United Church with Rev. Chuck Ross officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Resthaven Sunset Memorial Parks, Ponca City, Oklahoma. Friends that so desire, memorial donations can be made in Lorna's name to the Tiger Hills Health Centre Medical Clinic Expansion Project, c/o Municipality of Norfolk Treherne, Box 30 Treherne MB R0G 2V0.
