Obituary for Jennifer L. Wamsher (Boughner)
Jennifer L. Boughner Wamsher, 58, of Hummelstown, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 26, 2016, at her home.
Born in Harrisburg on August 24, 1957, she was the daughter of Joyce Kerstetter Boughner of Linglestown, and the late Leon Boughner. In addition to her mother, Jen is also survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Robert W. Wamsher whom she married on November 4, 1983; one son, Ryan M. Wamsher husband of Cynthia M. of Palmyra; one daughter, Taylor C. Wamsher of Hummelstown; one step-daughter, Kelly M. Auge wife of Joseph B. of Palmyra; two step-sons, Lonnie R. Wamsher husband of Jenine B. of Palmyra, and Kyle R. Wamsher husband of Nicole W. of Lebanon; one sister, Deborah Boughner of Hummelstown; one brother, Jeffrey Boughner husband of Lisa of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Roman A. Wamsher and Isabella R. Wamsher both of Palmyra; eight step grandchildren; and two great step grandchildren.
Jen retired after 35 years of service as an Executive Administrative Assistant for the Hershey Company. She was a 1975 graduate of Central Dauphin East High School, and a 1977 graduate of Harrisburg Area Community College. Jen was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hummelstown. She loved her pets; and taking care of other people, finding great joy in cooking feasts for them. Jen was an avid reader; and enjoyed vacationing and collecting shells along the beaches of Maine and Myrtle Beach.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at 3 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Kirk C. Kerns, pastor of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Linglestown, officiating. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 PM until time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in memory of Jen to a charity of your choice.
