Obituary for Robert Young Sr.
Robert A. Young Sr., 74, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on June 7, 2016 at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.
He was born on June 9, 1941 in Sunbury, PA and was the son of the late Harold and Violet Chambers Young.
Robert was a retired truck driver for Hemp Brothers, where he drove for many years. Upon retiring, Robert was a volunteer with his wife in the food pantry.
He was of the Christian Faith and a member of Grace Chapel, Elizabethtown and also was a Central Dauphin high school graduate.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Yvonne Ernest.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 48 years, Mabel E. (Camerlin) Young; a son, Robert A. Young Jr. and his wife Kelley of Oberlin; five grandchildren, Zachary, Eric, Skyler, Devin, and Maegan Young; two great-grandchildren and one sister, Darlene Diehl of York.
A tribute to Robert’s life will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Grace Chapel, 2535 Colebrook Rd., Elizabethtown, PA 17022, with the Rev. Melvin Weaver, his pastor, officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services, Monday at the church.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens following a light luncheon after the memorial service.
The family has entrusted the care of the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middletown to handle the funeral arrangements.
