Oscar Frederick Stroede Jr., age 83 of Huber Heights, passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on February 10, 1933 the son of Oscar Sr. & Edna (Hedtke) Stroede. He was a retired Veteran of the United States Air Force where he served for over 20 years all over the United States and the world. He loved to sketch, listen to music and write poetry. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Miriam (Preston) Stroede, 6 children Gloria (Ray) Thomas, Gail (Bruce) Klein, Glinda (Bruce) Leiter, Oscar (Katherine) Stroede III, Gary (Kimberly) Stroede, and Ginger (Robert) Redman, 9 grandchildren Jennifer Griffin, Amanda Wentzel, Alicia Redman, Michelle Boyle, Jack Leiter, Phoebe Stroede, Oscar Stroede IV, Harold Stroede, and Rachel Stroede, and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Crystal, and a sister Elaine Hoppe.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Oscar’s memory to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.blessingfh.com.
