Obituary for Shirley Jean Cooper

Shirley Jean (Driskel) Cooper was born on February 13, 1936 in Ingalls, Oklahoma to Clifford and Margarette Driskel of Glencoe, Ok. She passed from this life September 3, 2016 at Grace Living Center in Stillwater, Ok. Memorial Service will be held on a future date.
Shirley graduated from Glencoe High School in 1954. While attending high school she played Starting Forward position on the basketball team for the Glencoe Panthers, where she led them to many victories and fell in love with the game of basketball. Her love of basketball followed her on in life and she was an avid fan of Oklahoma City Thunder and Oklahoma State Cowgirls, she loved to watch them play.
She married Charles Cooper Jr. of Pawnee, Oklahoma on April 9, 1954 together they shared 62 years of marriage. Later they moved to Southern California where they raised three sons before returning home in Oklahoma in 1974.
Shirley was a homemaker she not only kept the home, she created it. She loved to design and oversee construction of numerous homes both in California and Oklahoma. Each home reflected her many talents in designing, sewing, crafting, and outdoor landscaping. With each home Shirley promised she would downsize the homes and landscaping. Each time she could not resist the desire to have it perfectly done to the tiniest of details.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Clifford and Margarette Driskel.
Shirley is survived by her husband Charles Cooper of Stillwater, Ok.; three sons; Mike Cooper and wife Christy of Glencoe, Ok; Mark Cooper and wife Gaylynn of Pawnee, Ok; Jim Cooper and wife Kim of Orange Tx; one brother; Jim Driskel and wife Pat of Glencoe, Ok; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Shirley’s name to Judith Karman Hospice.
