Obituary for Matilde Chaverri Chinchilla
ARLINGTON -- Matilde Chaverri Chinchilla, 89, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, in Arlington.
Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Friday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis Dr., Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Matilde was born on Dec. 21, 1927, in Heredia, Costa Rica to Joaquin Chaverri and Teresa Ruiz Chaverri. An Arlington resident since 1967, she was a longtime member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church. She volunteered in the Prayer Shawl Ministry and was a member of The Morning Joy Club. God was the center of her life.
Matilde is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Andrew Chinchilla Sr. on May 13, 2005; and brother, Edwin Chaverri.
Survivors: Sons, Andy Chinchilla and wife, Jeannie, and Ed Chinchilla and wife, Marlene; daughters, Elizabeth White and husband, Willie, Nancy Chinchilla, Mary Irvin and husband, Rodney, and Rose Chinchilla; sister, Bertha Mulford; brother, Fabio Chaverri and wife, Rosa; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
