Obituary for Frank Strobl Jr.

Frank Strobl, a resident of Tupelo, died peacefully on Monday, December 26, 2016, surrounded by his family.
Frank Strobl was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 20, 1928. Frank served in the army and was based in Alaska from 1946-1948. He later attended Northwestern University in Chicago and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. He began his career at Link Belt, later FMC. Frank and his family moved to Tupelo when FMC opened and completed forty-two years of service from 1952-1994 as a respectable and dependable engineer.

Frank lived to serve others. He was best described by his granddaughter Catherine when she was thirteen:
"Frank Strobl is the best grandfather in the world to me! He is the best cook ever! He could open his own is restaurant and it would be the best restaurant ever! For us to get to know each other better, we cook and talk and he teaches me everything about cooking. He helps me in school. He is very smart. He is also generous with his time trying to help me as much as he can. One thing I like about it is that he is funny and always make me laugh! He tries hard at everything he does and I respect that! He is a good listener and never misses a word. He is very understanding and is always smiling. Every time I am sick he comes to my house and makes me feel better. I want to thank him for everything he has given and I love him for that!"

Frank is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Rose and three children, Daniel Frank Strobl (deceased), Glen Strobl of Savannah, GA, and Cynthia Freeland of Oxford, MS. Frank has three grandchildren, Marissa Danielle Bryan, Catherine Alise Freeland, and Jason Hale Freeland and a great-grandchild, Tristan Xavier Bryan.
