Phillip Gene Blanks, 76 of Borger, Texas, died Sunday December 25th in Amarillo Texas, with his two daughters by his side. He was born April 26, 1940 to the late Jimmy and Ruth Martin Blanks. He was a graduate of Borger High School and had left the Panhandle to work with Owens Corning, but returned in the late 1970’s to Co-own and operate the family business, B&C Well Service. Many years later after the closing of B&C Well Service, he opened Hawk Well Service.
Phil enjoyed his work, ridding his Harley Davidson, listening to music, and was an avid movie buff and football fan. He loved his companion Louie, the black cocker spaniel, who was as spoiled as any loved child. He loved his children dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, and sister Pat Blanks Sanders. He is survived by his daughters, BeRanda Blanks of Little Rock, Arkansas, Britney Blanks White and husband Bert of Nashville, Arkansas, Amanda Rutland of Austin, Texas, and one son Hudson Blanks of Austin Texas. Sisters Audrey Klaus and husband Bob of Borger, Texas, Fran Patman and husband Willie of Borger, Texas, and Sally White of Pampa, Texas. Grandchildren Caney David White, Rhodey Blanks White, Cheyenne Rutland, Hopi Rutland, Mariah Rutland, Dylan Rutland, and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family received visitors at Minton Chatwell Funeral Home in Borger, Wednesday December 28th in Borger, Texas.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 31st 4:00 p.m. at Bissell Chapel Cemetery in New Hope, Arkansas.
Honoring his life as pallbearers will be Bert White, Caney White, Terry McQuary, Phillip Poe, Cole McQuary and Neil Savage. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Klaus, Adam Klaus, and Clint Klaus.
