Obituary for Edward Lee Gastineau

Edward Lee  Gastineau
Edward Lee Gastineau was born in a rural Oklahoma home March 31, 1932. He was born to Paul and Aubrye Gastineau. He was the middle child of three boys. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Jimmy Gastineau and John Gastineau. He moved to Tulsa when he was a young child. He graduated from Tulsa’s Central High School and earned a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University. He served two years in the US Army and then returned to Tulsa to work for Public Service Company of Oklahoma. In 1976 he relocated to Dallas to work for Central and Southwest Corporation. Ed is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn, a son Paul Gastineau (Debbie) and a daughter Wanda Braddy, three grandchildren David Gastineau (Melissa), Phillip Gastineau (Lauren) and Alexys Braddy, His first great granddaughter, Audrey Gastineau, was the light of his life. He experienced additional joy as he welcomed two additional great granddaughters Isabel Gastineau and Evelyn Gastineau. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa, and a founding member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano, TX. As an active member of several churches throughout his adult life, he played key financial and lay leadership roles. He enjoyed walking and exercise and had a tremendous love for dogs. Ed was a strong Christian and was a very caring and generous man. He cared deeply for those around him and always sought to improve and ease the lives of others.
