Obituary for Pauline S. ""Polly"" Kelley
Pauline "Polly" S. Kelley , 72 of Salt Rd., Groton died Friday, January 13, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse.
Born December 26, 1944 in Berlin NH she was the daughter of the late Bertrand and Alice Smith Swallow.
Having lived in the Groton area over 50 years, she had been employed by Cornell University and the City of Ithaca Public Works. She enjoyed camping with her "crew" on horseback excursions, and with family she enjoyed working the farm as well as cooking with her grandson Kyle.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John R. Kelley at home, her son , Daniel Kelley of Groton and her grandson Kyle Miller of Cortland. She will be sorely missed by them as well as by her many friends and colleagues. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Shawn Kelley in 1982 and her brother Francis.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Zirbel Funeral Home, 115 Williams St., Groton with Pastor Sharon Newman officiating. The family will receive friends from 11-1:00 prior to the services. Interment will follow in McLean Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Groton Fire Dept. Ambulance Fund.
