Obituary for India Marie Underwood
India Marie Underwood, age 74 of Medway, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Hazel Green, Kentucky on April 26, 1942 the daughter of Jesse W. & Marie (Madden) Moore. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Security Officer for Wayne High School, and a Deputy Clerk of Courts and Probation Officer for Montgomery County D2 & D3.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years Richard Underwood Sr., children Diana (James) Cremeens, Cynthia (Thomas) Folger, Cathy (Mike) Shifflett, Richard Jr. (Linda) Underwood, Steven (Burnadette) Underwood and special companion “Baby”, 22 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, numerous great great grandchildren, brothers & sisters Edgar T., Kelly (Bev), Jesse (Lori), Dennis (Diane), Kenneth (Kimberly), Sharon (Ron), and Annetta, cousins Charles & Patty, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Geraldine, granddaughter Faith, and great grandsons Charlie and Jayden. India never knew a stranger. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, cousins and friend. She was called “granny” by many and she was loved and will be missed by all.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5750 Shull Rd., Huber Heights, with Bishop Jeremy Lutz officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. Memorial contributions may be made in India’s memory to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5750 Shull Rd., Huber Heights, Ohio 45424.
