Obituary for June L. Locke

June L. Locke
June Lucille (Clarkson) Locke, 91, of Coventry, beloved wife of the late Joseph John Locke for 72 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at the Douglas Manor nursing home. June was born on June 7, 1925 in New Haven, CT, the daughter of the late William and Viola (Weed) Clarkson. On August 7, 1943 June married the love of her life, Joe, and they moved to Coventry in 1946, where they resided for 69 years. Joe and June raised 5 children and many foster children. June loved and accepted everyone and loved being the center of attention. From her wild outfits, her bright and shiny hats, her fun and outgoing nature, June would lighten up a room with her presence. The whole world was her stage, and she loved to perform. She loved to do her song and dance routine to ‘All Of Me’, which was appropriate because she gave all of herself in everything she did and to everyone she knew. She is reunited with Joe, where they can dance forever to ‘Leroy Brown’. June knew and cared for all her neighbors (Lakeview Terrace Rocks!!). June was a devoted Wife, Mother, Mother-in-Law, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Aunt, as well as a kind, caring, and generous friend to many. June will be greatly missed by her family and friends. June is survived by her children William and his wife Lynn, June Bourret, Joseph and his wife Debbie, Gregory, and Paul and his partner Sheri Hicks, grandchildren Aimee Faucher and her partner Steve Wlodarczyk, Casey Bourret and his partner Amanda Burbank, Abbee Bourret, Jonathan Locke, and Jennifer Locke and her fiancé Adam Narkon, great-grandchildren Dylan Bourret and AshLynn Burbank, and several nieces and nephews. June was predeceased by her husband Joe, her sister Millie, and her niece Happy. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Douglas Manor for their kind and loving care for the last 6 years. They are wonderful and we love them all. June’s family will receive friends for calling hours on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 4-7 pm at the Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home at 2665 Boston Turnpike, Coventry, CT. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Please share a memory of June with the family in the on-line guest book at www.pietrasfuneralhome.com.
