Obituary for Cynthia M Wachowiak

Cynthia M Wachowiak
Cynthia Marie Wachowiak age 62 of Stevens Point, passed away February 4, 2017 at St. Michaels Hospital. She was diagnosed with lupus at a young age which eventually took her kidneys. She was on dialysis for a time before receiving a kidney from her brother James. This gave her 19 ½ years, in which time she and her husband adopted two children. Lupus struck again, taking her 2nd donated kidney, by her sister-in-law Lisa. All toll, Cynthia had 30 years to enjoy family, friends, and life due to loving kidney donations. A wish of Cynthia’s is that more people would become organ donors, so others may live life.
Funeral services for Cynthia will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday February 9, 2017 at Highland Church, 700 Hoover Ave. in Plover. Pastor Nathan Schroeder will officiate. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 10:00 AM Thursday until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in her name for the local Lupus Foundation. Shuda Funeral Services are honored to assist the family.
Cynthia was born August 12, 1954, the daughter of Phillip and Wanda (Penar) Cass in Stevens Point. She was from the first graduating class at SPASH in 1972. She continued her passion for art, by taking advanced art classes throughout her life. She married Peter Wachowiak on June 7, 1975 in Stevens Point. She worked part-time at Mobile Chef with her sister-in-law Roseann. She also catered, cleaned for Lee Dreyfus and John Joanis with her mother-in-law Theresa Wachowiak. She enjoyed art, crafts, sewing, gardening, and flowers. Cynthia and Peter owned a hobby farm with different animals, but her favorite were always the horses. Cynthia and Pete loved to ride together and would play moon light tag. She loved Jesus, her church family, the Green Bay Packers, her country, camping, and being with family and friends. Her love of Jesus Christ and the gospel sustained her throughout life and sickness; she shared her beliefs by her example and her walk in life.
Cynthia is survived by her husband of over 41 years: Peter and their children: Cassandra and Jacob. 4 grandchildren: Ayden, Alex, Genevieve, and Aaron. 2 brothers: Jim (Loni) Cass and Donald (Gladys) Cass, both of Stevens Point. Numerous cousins, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers: Phillip and Joseph.
