George Ragusa
Please accept my condolences for the loss of your dear loved one. At times like this the comfort and support of family and friends is so important. What also helps very much, no matter what your faith may be, is the comfort and sure hope we receive through reading and meditating on God's Word, the Bible. Jesus, on the night before he was to suffer an agonizing death, was praying to his heavenly father. In that prayer he stated with full confidence "your word is truth" (John 17:17). The Bible is almighty God's thoughts and promises. One promise is to use his son, Christ Jesus to one day soon bring back to life all those who "hear his voice" (John 5:28, 29). What a glorious day that will be! Death is an enemy not only to mankind, but also to God (1 Corinthians 15:26). That is why He promises to rid mankind forever of all the pain, suffering, and death we have experienced for thousands of years (Revelation 21:3-5). There is a grand future ahead for the living and the dead. Almighty God wants us to know and serve Him by reading and applying His Word in our daily lives (2 Timothy 3:16, 17). If we do He promises that we will enjoy everlasting life (John 17:3). Hopefully, these thoughts from God's Word have given you a degree of comfort and hope. Please look these scriptures up in your Bible and be blessed. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
