BRAKE, Debra Amy passed on February 12th 2017 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa after a courageous 5 year battle with gallbladder cancer. Beloved youngest daughter of Gertrude and the late G.R. “Bob” Brake of Stephenville, Newfoundland. Sister of Maureen McAlaster (Doug) of Oshawa, Alphonse Brake (Blanche) of Terrace Bay, Trudy Jechow (Wolfgang) of Prince George BC and Adele Benoit (Richard) of Barrie. Debbie will be missed by her nieces and nephews. Proud employee of Metro News in Scarborough, and former employee (part-time) at Delta Bingo. As per Debbie’s wishes cremation has taken place, an interment will take place in Stephenville, Newfoundland in early summer. A special thank you to Joan and Catherine from Partners in Community Nursing and the staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for your care and compassion. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Debbie’s memory (through the funeral home) to the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Palliative Care Unit.
