Obituary for Edward Louis Wisk Sr.

Edward Louis Wisk Sr.
Edward Wisk, 92, passed away on February 11, 2017 and joined his late wife Flo in heaven, on her birthday!
He was born in Winber, PA, the son of German immigrants, August and Auguste Wysk. He was the last surviving sibling of 11 children. Ed grew up in Smyrna, DE on the family farm and married Florence Ruth Evanek in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dover in 1951. He had been a Master Sgt. in the Army during WWII, serving as a replacement in the Battle of the Bulge- and lost a finger as a part of the machine gun crew.
They lived in Georgetown for many decades, and were married for over 50 years. He worked as an Agricultural Scientist for the University of Delaware, having earned his Masters’s Degree. He was internationally known for his research on soy and lima beans.
His faithful love of the Lord, gardening, dogs and family is well known, and he later enjoyed bingo at his assisted living residence, and was well loved by his wonderful caregivers and neighbors and all who knew him. He was a lifelong vegetarian, and is survived by three sons Ed Jr. of Harbeson, Tim of Rehoboth Beach and Glenn of Smyrna, De and all who miss him dearly. Comfort may be found knowing his close personal relationship with God and Family Ministries of Bridgeville.
