Donald  Gaines Sr.
Donald Leroy Gaines, Sr (Joeboy) son of the late Betty Cheers Sudler and Charles Henry Sudler, Jr departed this life on Sunday February 12, 2017 at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton. Joeboy was 60 years old.
Joeboy was educated in Queen Anne’s County Public Schools and graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School; class of 1974. During school Joeboy loved to play sports and was a member of the Queen Anne's County High School Track & Field and Cross Country teams. Upon graduation Joeboy joined the United States Army where he served for many years; receiving numerous honors. After returning home, Joeboy worked for Allen’s Foods in Cordova MD. He was a dedicated worker for over 20 years before his health began to fail.
Joeboy enjoyed spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Joeboy was an avid New York Giants fan, enjoyed cooking on the grill for family events, hanging out with the fellas and visiting Uncle Robert.
Cherishing Joeboy’s memories are three sons; Christopher Michael Gaines (Glen Burnie, MD), Donald Leroy Gaines Jr (Annapolis, MD) and Jonnus Pollard (Millington, MD). Five sisters; Gloria Dill (James) (Dover, DE), Ann Sudler, Dorothy Brooks, Rhonda Sudler (Centreville, MD) and Barbara Jones (Gregory) (Hurlock, MD), six Grandchildren; Darius, Niarte, Joselyn, Layla, Cameron, and Vaughn. Three aunts; Maceo Cheers, Fannie Ackridge, and Rudy Seney (all of Centreville, MD), four uncles; Edward Cheers (Sudlersville, MD), Eugene Cheers (Boston, MA), Robert Sudler and Henderson Sudler (both of Centreville, MD), a beloved friend; Bernice Dennis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
