1946-2017
Graduated to Glory February 26th, 2017 courageously and peacefully with her family by her side. She was born on October 10, 1946 in Matheson to her parents late Albert and late Lucienne Geoffroy, and had a beautiful childhood on a humble farm in Val Gagne.
She leaves behind to mourn, her pride and joy: her son and daughter: Gary (Sherry) Morrissette and Jo-Anne (David) Broughton. Her biggest blessings were her grandchildren: Kristin Morrissette (Greg Jones), Kelsey Morrissette, Breanna (Jesse) Fontaine, Brittney Broughton and Dawson Broughton. Also Diane leaves behind her much-loved step grand-children: Michael, Mathew and Marissa Carnovale. She also leaves behind her brothers, sisters, brother in laws and sister in laws, whom she loved so much: Jaqueline Geoffroy, Etienne (Aline) Geoffroy, Rachelle Bellemare (Denis), Lucien (Yvonne) Geoffroy, Ida (Claude) Bouchard, Noël (Ginette) Geoffroy. Predeceased by: Germain Geoffroy, Marielle & Aurelien Bellemare, Jaqueline Morrissette, Gerald Geoffroy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her closest friend and confidant Denise Dionne.
Diane lived a life of courage, strength and faithfulness to God amidst many trials and tests she endured. She will be remembered as a loving mother, a proud grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend & encourager to anyone that was close to her. Throughout her life she served on the Handi Trans committee, was part of the “Handicap Club”. She also worked for March of Dimes in the 1980's bringing accessibility awareness in schools and was an advocate for people with disabilities and helped bring about change in the community to make it more accessible. The family would like to thank the kind and compassionate staff at The Golden Manor for caring for her in the past 2 years. They helped make her life as comfortable as possible. As well as the staff at Access Better living where she resided for 25 years. In Lieu of flowers donations to the March of Dimes and Muscular Dystrophy would be greatly appreciated by the family. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 1, 2017 at 11:00 am at Grace Bible Chapel. The family will receive friends on Tuesday February 28, 2017 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Wednesday March 1, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Grace Bible Chapel. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
