Gary L.  Bingham
Gary L. Bingham 66, lifelong resident of Franklin passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
He was born September 13, 1950 in Franklin to Willard E. Bingham and Wilma Mae (Fritch) Bingham. He married Jane A. (Carlisle) Bingham on May 12, 2000 in Franklin, she survives.
He was a 1968 graduate of Franklin Community High School and a 1973 graduate from Butler University where he received his degree in pharmaceuticals. He had been a pharmacist having worked at Hook’ Drug Stores, CVS, Walgreens, Kroger, Walmart, and lastly Phar-Merica in Indianapolis retiring in 2013 after a 40 year career.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin, Sigma Chi Fraternity, and was an avid Butler Bulldog fan. He enjoyed watching basketball, football, gardening, yardwork, classic rock and roll music, black and white movies and television programs. He also was an avid Civil War historian.
Survivors include his wife Jane A. (Carlisle) Bingham of Franklin, step children Kyle D. Buckler of Franklin, S. Craig Buckler (Josh Gurvitz) of Indianapolis, and Mary Ann Johnson (Troy) of Matthews, North Carolina, four step grandchildren Drew Johnson, Ellie Johnson, Briley Buckler, and Teagan Buckler, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The Reverend Andy Kinsey will conduct a service at 10:30AM on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
