Obituary for Angeline E. Krueger (Esterline)

Angeline E. Krueger (Esterline)
Frieda Angeline Esterline Krueger
4 November 1916 - 13 March 2017

Frieda Angeline Esterline Krueger ‘Angie’ was born shortly after midnight on the 4th of November, 1916, near Bernie in Stoddard County, Missouri, and departed this life early in the morning of the 13th of March, 2017, in Cameron, Missouri, at the age of 100 years, 4 months, and 9 days. She was the eighth of the 15 children of Thomas Elmer and Nettie Mae Cunningham Esterline. Three brothers (Ed, Leroy, and Howard) and eight sisters (Mary Marie, Arthula, Vivian, Dora, Ruth, Alene, Leveda and Dawn) preceded her in death. She is survived by one brother, John (Esther) Esterline of Cincinnati, Ohio and two sisters, Fae (Kenneth) Krueger of Fargo, North Dakota and Doris (Quincy) Hoggard of Bernie, Missouri.

In 1957, she received her high school diploma and was featured on the national TV show, “It Could Be You.” She then attended college and achieved a life-long dream when she became a grade school teacher. She taught for 20 years in Kansas, Utah, Idaho and Missouri.

Angeline was married twice; both ended in divorce. She and Lyle Walter Krueger had four children: Linda McGuire (Kenneth), David (Dorothy), Stephen, and Cheryl McGuire (Kenneth). Linda and Stephen preceded her in death.

Angeline was also married for about five years to Curtis Lockamy. Curtis’ daughters Mary, Pat & Wanda, remain valued members of her extended family.

Throughout her life, Angeline never lost her deep love and faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Angeline’s faith and understanding were increased when she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) in 1979, after the death of her daughter Linda a few months prior. As a member of the Mormon church, in addition to being a ward Relief Society President and Sunday School teacher, she served the Lord as a full time missionary in the California Arcadia LDS Mission (1983-1984) and later served in the Chicago and Saint Louis temples.

In 1987, Angeline experienced the fulfillment of a dream when her son Stephen took her on a three-week tour of England, France and Israel.

Angeline loved to socialize and help others. Whether hosting people in her home, providing dinners for friends, supporting others financially or with the necessities of life, she found meaning in friendship and service.

She loved to write and keep records. This paid off when she self-published her two books: a cookbook of her favorite recipes entitled Cooking with Love and an autobiography detailing her long and eventful life Walk in My Shoes.

Angeline leaves a great legacy. She has 20 grandchildren (one deceased), 53 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, along with many friends scattered throughout the country.

Angeline’s funeral will be held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cameron, Missouri at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017. There will be a viewing prior to the service beginning at noon. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery.
