Obituary for Verna "Mary" Moe (Klein)

Verna "Mary" Moe (Klein)
Verna “Mary” Klein was born on April 9, 1934 in Adrian to Michael and Margaret (Evert) Klein. She received the Sacrament of Baptism, April 11, 1934 at St. Adrian Parish. Mary attended high school in Mankato, graduating from Good Counsel Academy, where she made many dear friends that remained a part of her life to this day. On July 6th 1956, Mary was united in marriage to Rieber Lowell Moe in Downey, California. To this union, they were blessed with five children. After 20 years of life in California, they decided it was time to head east and make their home back in Minnesota.

Mary loved to recall and reminisce about her childhood from her young years on the farm, time in Chicago with her Mom and of her years as a flight attendant on the Convairs, DC3 and finally the “big” planes of that era, the DC6B8 60 passenger planes for Western Airlines. Wherever life took Mary, she was loved; you only needed to meet her once and she was forever in your heart. She was the type of self-less person who always worried about others before her own happiness. She loved time spent with her family. She had a special place in her heart for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love for children was always evident. Mary was a childcare provider for many years. Caring for and being in the hearts and minds of children, brought her an abundance of joy. Mary had a great love for nature, the outdoors, the ocean and all of Gods beautiful creations. In her later years, she found great friendship in birds, especially two cockatiels - “Harvey" and “Sparkey”. They filled her quiet days with a lot of fun and happiness and she enjoyed sharing them with others.

Mary passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 19, 2017 at the Minneota Manor, in
Minneota.

Left to cherish her memory: four daughters, Denise (Rick) Castle of Redwood Falls, Peggy (Larry) Lamote of Marshall, Beth Moe of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Terri (Jeff) Bauer of Graceville, one son, Daniel (Gulia) Moe of Layton, Utah. All of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One brother, John “Jack” Klein of Kalispell, Montana; one sister, Therese Marie Stewart of Ithaca, New York and many other family and friends, who were blessed to have known her.
