Joseph H. P.  Violette
AUGUSTA, MAINE
Joseph H.P. Violette - age 74, of Townsend Street, died March 18, 2017 at Alfond Center for Health in Augusta.
He was born in Van Buren, ME on Sept. 6, 1942 the son of Noel Violette and Mildred (Parent) Violette.
Mr. Violette served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Violette was employed by O’Connor GMC for several years. He was previously employed by Caron’s Collision Center in Augusta for over 25 years.
Mr. Violette was a member of American Legion Post 205 of Augusta, and a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans.
His wife, Priscilla Y. (Gregoire) Violette, predeceased him on April 5, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his father, Noel Violette, his mother, Mildred Violette Caserta, two brothers, Willard Violette and Norman Violette, and a step-daughter Marie Anne Lavigne.
Surviving is a son, Joseph Violette, Jr. of Davie, FL; two daughters, Susan Violette of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Tammie Vranich of Chipley, FL; one step-son, Patrick Lavigne and his companion Anita of Augusta, ME; two step-daughters: Monique Lavigne and her companion Jason of Windsor, ME and Lisa Morin and her husband Scott of Belgrade, ME; two sisters: Joan Caron and her husband Richard of Plainville, CT and Sandra Austin and her companion Ronald of New Hartford, CT; two brothers: Patrick Violette of West Springfield, MA, and Armand Violette of Bristol, CT; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank all the health care providers that have cared for Joe the past three weeks especially Kathy Mason of Augusta.
There will be no public visiting hours. Committal prayers and military honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 24th in the chapel at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt.
