Pearl E. Denton, 84, of Bridgewater, NY, passed away peacefully at the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford on Saturday, March 18, 2017. She was born May 12, 1932 in North Hampton, PA, a daughter of Robert and Iola Hontz Taylor and received her education in local schools. On August 13, 1949, Pearl married John L. Denton in Easton, PA. He predeceased her on April 17, 1988. Pearl was the librarian at the Bridgewater Free Library for many years. She also worked with the Bridgewater Summer Recreation Program, and was a talented seamstress.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine (Keith) Sullivan of West Winfield; her sons, Gary (Lisa) Denton of West Winfield; Rodney (Kim) Denton of Bridgewater; David (Leigh) Denton of Sauquoit; Charlie (Joanne) Denton of Bridgewater; her daughter-in-law, Rene Denton of Cassville; her brother, Norman Taylor; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Pearl was looking forward to the birth of two more great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Phyllis Denton, son, Paul Denton, twin sister, Grace Bleamer, sisters, Calista Hagenbuch, Pauline Nothstein, Beatrice Barthold and Eleanor Holden and brothers Robert, Arthur, Samuel, and Franklin Taylor.
In keeping with Pearl’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. Interment of her remains will be at a private service at a later date.
