Obituary for Elaine H. Entrekin (Hampton)

Elaine H.  Entrekin (Hampton)
Elaine H. Entrekin, age 93, departed this life on March 22, 2017 at her home in Freedom Village Retirement Community, West Brandywine Township.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Charles H. Entrekin, Sr.
She was the daughter of the late George S. Hampton, Sr. and Hazel Whitworth Hampton of Coatesville.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Charles and Kathy Entrekin of South Coventry Twp.; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mildred (Mrs. Charles Ashenfelter) of Delaware County and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Entrekin was born and raised in Coatesville and was a 1942 graduate of Coatesville High School where she served as editor of the student newspaper, Spotlight. She dated her future husband in high school and they were married in February, 1946 upon his return from Europe after the Second World War.
After graduation from high school, she worked in the Trust Department of the former National Bank of Chester Valley and subsequently, as an office manager for the Breuninger Real Estate firm in Coatesville.
She was a long-time member of the Coatesville Garden Club. In her later years, she most enjoyed the time spent with her granddaughter, Lauren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 27, 2017 at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Hwy., Coatesville where relatives and friends may call beginning at 10 a.m.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, 3401 Civic Center Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19104, www.chop.edu/giving.
