Obituary for Doyl Dudley Bailey
Doyl Dudley Bailey, 86, born in Ridgeville, South Carolina on March 28, 1930 to Lenny and Zethel (Frelix) Bailey, passed away in Canon City on March 20, 2017.
Doyl retired from the United States Army, where he served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired from the Army in 1967 at Westpoint, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. Following his military career, he worked as director of operations for the McDonald’s Franchise in Colorado Springs for 21 years. He was also a member of The Retired Enlisted Association and Lion’s Club.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Bailey; children, Robert (Karene) Bailey, Richard Bailey; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, along with numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doyl’s name to the Fremont County Humane Society, 110 Rhodes Ave., Canon City, CO 81212.
