I Knew the beloved Larry Roe back in 1986 from Anchorage Alaska for his authentic charisma for life and living.. Founding The Roes Riders in Anchorage Alaska.. We enjoyed touring all over the great state of Alaska. When I had a motorcycle accident in the summer of 1986 on my blue/white 1986 GSX-R 750 .. The whole motorcycle group of Roes Riders visited me and made sure I survived my ruptured spleen surgery as I was only 16 at the time and was a traumatic time for me knowing I could have died from internal bleeding... I found a closer relationship with God after that point and strived my whole life to make a bigger difference in the world by realizing how precious and special it is to be alive... The great times my Dad and I had in the motorcycle group of Roes' Riders have always been a talking subject... wondering where everybody is and if everyone that we rode with, are still out there "putting" around on motorcycles. In the summer of 1987 Larry started me out on my first motorcycle by restoring a brown Kawazaki KZ400 for me which ran so great that I aced my motorcycle test with it at the age of 16, and officially became the youngest member of Roes Riders.. I rode with my Dad and the group and later that summer bought a 1986 gsxr 750 which was very similar to my Dads 1986 Gsxr 1100.. Those times riding with my Dad and Roes Riders was truly the best days of my life... We stopped at all the great Alaskan burger joints and had the best double bacon cheeseburgers and coffee anyone could ever imagine... We enjoyed the freshly paved Alaskan Highways from Homer and Seward.. All the way to Ketchikan.. The veterans sported thier fully dressed Honda Goldwings and pulled pop-up trailers and one of the newcomers "Scott" brought in his brand new Suzuki Calvalcade... Which I rode on the back once. As a member of Roes Riders we had fun events like bike shows and poker runs.. But the best times were just out enjoying the amazing scenery and spectacular wonders of Alaska. Larry Roe made all these great times I had in life possible.. I really owe him a great deal of gratitude for being that blast of fun in my life with my Dad and I along with all the other great members of Roes Riders "my Dad and I miss all you guys dearly... And yes we still ride motorcycles to this day. To Larry Roe: May God see your goodness and kindness and may there be motorcycles and amazing places to explore in heaven with the best Burger Joints anyone could ask for... To Patricia or "Pat" as I remember.. 54 years of faithful marriage is a wonderful accomplishment and you were always the twinkle in his eyes.. I hope we can get in touch again soon.. wow its been 30 years since we rode motorcycles together... But it still seems like yesterday!
