Obituary for Champ Scott Jr.

Champ  Scott Jr.
Mr. Champ Scott, Jr.,affectionately known as Butcher, 72, of Statesville, passed away, Sunday, March 26, 2017, at the Gordon's Hospice House. He was the son of the late Champ, Scott, Sr. and Daisy Mae Waddell Scott. He was preceded in death by, brother, James Louis Scott and sister, Mary Frances Everhart; and a longtime friend, Irene Stinson.

Mr. Scott was a graduate of Unity High School, and was a member Cameron Presbyterian. He was honorable discharged from the United States Army.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, a step-son, Sidney (Cynthia) Wilson of Statesville; three brothers, Robert Tucker of Los Angeles, CA, Robert (Mary Frances) Scott of Statesville, NC, and William (Dorothy) Scott of Cleveland, NC; two sisters, Helen Houpe of Kathleen, GA and Georgia (Sammy) Ferguson of Statesville, NC; a special nephews and caregivers,Boonie Scott and Dwight Scott,special cousin and caregiver Larry Scott; twelve step-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will conducted on Saturday, April 1, 2017, 12:30 pm, at Cameron Presbyterian Church. The family receive friends, from 12-12:30 pm, at the church. The burial will follow at the Belmont Cemetery. The family will assemble at the residence of his sister, Georgia Ferguson, at 104 E. Raleigh Avenue, Apt. 4, at all other times.
