Obituary for Theresa A. Sweetser

Theresa A. Sweetser , nee Staubinger, passed away at age 95 on March 28, 2017 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 19, 1921 in the Bronx. Theresa was of the Roman Catholic faith and an active parishioner for over 60 years at St. James and St. Joseph R.C. church in lower Manhattan. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Melvin, and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her beloved children, Patricia, Barbara, Robert, Lawrence (Laura), Kevin, Thomas, Eleanor Mahones (Balendu Vasavada M.D.) and Eileen. Also four grandchildren, John III, James, Melanie, Derek and one great grandson, Julian. Visitation will be at Redden's Funeral Home, 325 West 14th Street, New York, NY 10014 on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 2pm to 5pm, and 7pm to 9pm, with a prayer service beginning at 8:30 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at St. Andrews R.C. Church, 20 Cardinal Hayes Place, New York, NY Interment at St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sisters of Our Lady of Christian Doctrine of the Marydell Faith and Life Center, 110 Larchdale Avenue, Nyack, NY 10960.
